WP1: JCAS in new frequency bands

Objectives: Devising advanced signal processing techniques and efficient algorithms for sensing parameter estimation from CSI in mmWave MIMO systems for better object and environment sensing and classification (Obj1a); and developing RIS-assisted solutions to circumvent high penetration loss and channel sparsity at mmWave frequencies through controlling multipath signals (Obj1b). Design lowcomplexity visible light JCAS systems via retroreflectors for passive-VLC and to devise models based on Lambertian patterns for submeter 3D localisation and human counting with a single light source (Obj2).
